A Hall County land conservation/preservation organization which is nearing its second anniversary issued a report recently citing its accomplishments over the past 24 months.
Founded by Gainesville real estate agent Brent Hoffman, its goal is to enter into agreements with landowners to preserve as much green space as possible throughout the growing county and adjacent counties. EARLIER STORY. POSTED MAY 28, 2024: Gville-based group seeks commitments to ‘green space’
“We have already conducted over 4,000 mailings to landowners owning more than 50 acres in Hall, Habersham and Jackson counties. White, Lumpkin and Dawson are next,” the Spring Report begins. “These letters highlight our organization and how landowners can benefit from donating their land outright or by establishing a conservation easement to retain specific personal uses such as farming, hunting, or future residences.”
In addition, the report notes that “All of this ‘groundwork’ is definitely paying off. While we cannot disclose details yet, we have close to 10 greenspace-related properties currently under consideration for land donation and/or conservation agreements.”
And here are more highlights of the report:
- Work is well underway with a new NorthGeorgiaLandTrust.org website loaded with much more information and ways that people can help expand our mission. The new site, which we will officially roll out in the next week or two, replaces our scrolling site that we’ve simply outgrown.
- Speaking of our website, traffic from hundreds of new visitors continues to increase each month, validating this region’s strong interest in protecting our beautiful green space areas for coming generations.
- Word of mouth has been another public relations strategy with over a hundred one-on-one meetings with landowners, local governments, donors (both individual and corporate), and local media.
- Our social media presence continues to grow with several hundred followers on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn. If you haven’t done so, please look us up and follow our pages. This strategy has also been key in building our website traffic.
- Our founder, Brent Hoffman, and other board members have made numerous public presentations to local civic clubs, churches, local governments, chambers of commerce, and green space committees. If you are interested in a presentation to your organization, please don’t hesitate to contact us (visit our website for contact info). North Georgia Land Trust |
