Wreck leads to ‘laundry list’ of charges

A South Hall man is facing a long list of charges following a wreck Wednesday afternoon in that part of the county.

STATE PATROL NARRATIVE:

(…Thursday about 3:00, troopers were enroute to a two-vehicle accident on Friendship Rd at Ridge Rd. when they were informed) that one of the drivers and vehicle had left the scene. The Troopers arrived on scene and spoke with the other driver, who had remained at the scene. The driver on scene was identified as Jay Miller, age 35, of Buford, Ga.

Mr. Miller stated that the vehicle that left the scene was a black pick-up truck and that the pick-up truck had struck his vehicle in the rear before fleeing the scene. A witness corroborated that the vehicle that left the scene was a black pick-up truck and also stated that the driver who fled was driving recklessly, speeding, and making improper lane changes.

The vehicle was located near the crash and the Troopers made contact with the driver, Austin Green, age 33, of Flowery Branch. Green admitted to being involved in the crash and the Trooper suspected that Green was under the influence of alcohol. Green was arrested and placed in the Trooper’s patrol vehicle. After being placed inside, Green struck his head several times on the partition inside the patrol car and also kicked the door/window of the patrol car until it was no longer working.
