FLOWERY BRANCH POLICE DEPARTMENT (FBPD) NEWS RELEASE:
“(Thursday) officers with the Flowery Branch Police Department conducted a traffic stop based on suspended registration. During the course of the stop, a K-9 Officer alerted to the presence of
narcotics in the vehicle.
A search followed and officers located a large
quantity of cocaine and a small amount of marijuana in the vehicle.
The driver, identified as Matthew Steven Burgess, 41, of Gainesville, and the
passenger, identified as Brandy Nicole Hollifield, 50, of Clarkesville, were
both arrested as a result.
*Ms. Hollifield was arrested and charged with the following offenses:
Trafficking in Cocaine
Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute
Possession of Cocaine
Tampering with Evidence
*Mr. Burgess was arrested and charged with the following offenses:
Possession of Marijuana Less than 1oz
Both were subsequently transported to the Hall County Jail.”
