GDOT okays road work totaling millions of dollars statewide including three projects in the Gville area

Contracts have been awarded by the state Department of Transportation (GDOT) for 18 projects around the state valued at approximately $49 million and three are for work in Barrow and Forsyth counties

The largest single investment statewide in resurfacing, valued at approximately $6.5 million, involves 14.28 miles of work on State Route 53 in Barrow and Oconee counties.

The largest bridge rehabilitation contract, totaling $3.5 million, at various locations in Forsyth and Gwinnett counties.

Another Forsyth County project involves 0.208 miles of reconstruction and widening for an additional lane on Georgia 20 West beginning at Hudson Street and extending to Mason Street at a cost of $520,000.
