UPDATE: Sunday Ga. 365 wreck leaves two with minor injuries

GEORGIA STATE PATROL NARRATIVE:

“(Sunday about noon) a Trooper from the Gainesville Post of the Georgia State Patrol responded to SR 365 (Cornelia Highway) at the intersection of Athens Street to investigate a two-vehicle traffic crash.

Upon arrival, the Trooper determined a 2020 Nissan Altima, driven by, Theophilus Akhimie, 44, of Lula was stopped at the stop sign, facing west, on Athens Street at the intersection of SR 365. A 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander, driven by, Timothy Arnold, 39, of Westminster, South Carolina was traveling in the left northbound lane on SR 365, approaching the intersection of Athens Street.

Akhimie began turning left onto SR 365 and struck the passenger side of the Mitsubishi Outlander with the right front bumper of the Nissan Altima. This crash caused the Mitsubishi Outlander to rotate clockwise and overturn several times in the left northbound lane of SR 365.

Akhimie had a complaint of injury and was cited for Failure to Yield After Stopping at a Stop Sign.  Arnold had a visible injury.”
