*Informed earlier Monday that he will be released by the Miami Dolphins, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa will sign a one-year contract with the Atlanta Falcons, multiple media outlets reported. The Falcons are set to release veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins, giving the team a pair of left-handed signal callers. However, Michael Penix Jr. Penix is recovering from a knee injury, so it remains to be seen who will be under center for Atlanta in Week 1.
*Los Angeles Sparks forward Rickea Jackson expressed fear for her life while filing for a temporary protective order against her ex-boyfriend, Atlanta Falcons edge rusher James Pearce Jr., ESPN and TMZ reported on Wednesday. The temporary order was requested and granted after Pearce reportedly crashed his vehicle into Jackson’s several times in Doral, Fla.
*The Atlanta Braves will become the latest MLB team with their own television network as BravesVision is set to make its debut this season. The direct-to-distributor model will be available through cable, satellite and streaming services in the Braves’ market, with more than 140 games expected to be produced this season.
