New Hall Co. group ‘stands with ICE”

The controversy over locating an ICE detention/processing facility in Oakwood has spawned a new citizens group – this one, “Stand With ICE Hall County,” supports putting the center here.

The brainchild of “Brian and Nancy,” it was already boasting 151 members as of late Monday morning.

“This group is for Hall County, GA citizens who SUPPORT what ICE’s true purpose is…to REMOVE child trafficking, drug smuggling/dealing, sexual predators, and murderers from our streets!” says a statement on its Facebook page.

“We are NOT naive to the plight of those who’ve not committed any crime other than coming here illegally. However, you must face the consequences of doing so by leaving and coming back in through legal channels.

“You CAN support ICE and want “LEGAL IMMIGRATION.”

“We need citizens who SUPPORT their efforts NOT impede or delay the enforcement of the law and the removal of the degenerates once and for ALL!”

The group plans to be at the Oakwood City Council meeting tonight and gather outside city hall at 6:30 “to walk in together in solidarity.” Anyone attending is asked to wear “red, white and blue or an American flag shirt (if you can).”

The council’s agenda includes consideration of a resolution calling for a stay on construction of the facility.
