Hall Co. man charged with racketeering following drug raid

A drug rain in Canon Wednesday resulted in the arrest of a Hall County man and two others.

Franklin County sheriff’s officers and GBI drug agents arrested Bart Starks, 70, who lived at the house and Arthur Poole of Hall County.

Starks is charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and violation of the RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations) Act.

Poole faces a RICO charge as does Randy Stewart Hil of Canon. Specifics of their involvement in the case were not immediately known.

Sheriff Scott Andrews said the Banks County Sheriff’s Office also assisted in the investigation.
