A Hall County congressman is calling for term limits for certain elected officials, declaring in a recent post on X “you’re not meant to be in Congress 40 years.” Rich McCormick, who district includes a part of Hall County, also says he’s in favor of mental testing of elected officials of a certain age.
“It’s time for a constitutional amendment that sets term limits and requires cognitive testing for leaders above a certain age,” McCormick (R-Suwanee) said. “Americans on both sides of the aisle want accountability. Let’s make it happen.”
He says the idea came to him while watching last week’s State of the Union address although he pointed out that he feels President Trump “is not cognitively impaired.”
A video you will find here goes into more detail on why he feels term limits and mental testing are needed: (1) Congressman Rich McCormick, MBA MD (@RepMcCormick) / X
