A 19-year-old Gainesville man remains in the Hall County Jail and has been charged with sex crimes involving a Tennessee girl under the age of 16. Authorities allege that he brought the girl to Gainesville for sexual purposes.
HCSO NARRATIVE:
“In an investigation that began last month, Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) investigators determined Jose Ramirez-Aguilar transported the victim from Jackson, Tennessee to his residence on Peach Mountain Drive in Hall County in late December 2025. The suspect and the victim met each other two years ago when both were living in Tennessee.
HCSO patrol deputies first made contact with the victim the night of Jan. 24, 2026, at a fire station on Poplar Springs Road. The victim and Ramirez-Aguilar had had an argument and the victim had left the Peach Mountain Drive residence on foot. A concerned citizen gave her a ride to the fire station. Because of custody issues with relatives in Tennessee, the victim was placed in foster care under the supervision of the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS).
…following interviews with the victim and forensic processing of her cell phone, investigators obtained arrest warrants for Ramirez-Aguilar for two counts each of felony child molestation and felony statutory rape. He was arrested at his residence on Feb. 24. He is being held without bond at this time.”
Jail records Thursday morning showed he is also being held for immigration authorities.
