Showers and thunderstorms will return to Georgia on Thursday and Friday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). “Widespread soaking rains are likely with amounts in the 0.5-to-1.5-inch range possible,” a Wednesday morning advisory says.
The Gainesville area can expect up to one inch. The rain will give way to a rain-free weekend with mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the upper 60s and low 70s.
