Alleged Apalachee shooter’s sister: Her father wanted her to ‘cover for him’

(GA. NEWS NETWORK)

The younger sister of accused Apalachee High School shooter Colt Gray testified Tuesday that their father wanted her to “basically try to cover for him” and not tell anyone he knew about photos of the Parkland, Fla., school shooter in Colt’s bedroom. She testified as their father’s trial continues in Winder.

She also said her brother had increasing mental health issues and kept a rifle in his room along with wall postings related to the Parkland shooting.

Also Tuesday, jurors heard an audio recording of an interview between GBI agent Kelsey Ward and Colin Gray hours after the mass shooting on September 4, 2024. As the long interview was wrapping up, Gray became emotional about the realization unfolding.

She goes on to say that in the coming weeks, he’ll see and hear things that will not be kind, to which he responds, “apparently not.”

Gray is accused of giving his son access to the firearm used in the incident that killed two students and two teachers.
