*A second measles case has been reported in Georgia. The State Department of Health announced Monday that an unvaccinated Bryan County resident has come down with the illness. They say the resident had recently traveled out of state. This marks the second measles case in the Peach State so far this year.

*President Trump says angel families are the victims of politicians who insist on open borders. Trump spoke at the White House on Monday during a ceremony to honor the families who have lost loved ones to crimes committed by people in the U.S. illegally, including the mother of Laken Riley, the Georgia nursing student who was killed by an illegal immigrant a year ago.

*Dozens of Georgia’s unionized letter carriers held a rally over the weekend for better pay as part of a nationwide day of protest. Members of the National Association of Letter Carriers say 55% of the new employees stay with the Postal Service for less than a year with new hires not receiving an immediate uniform allowance, adding that the stipend covers only about 30% of the required uniform. Literature provided by the labor union says the requests include higher pay, including higher starting wages, shorter time to reach “top of pay scale,” and full benefits. Negotiations between the union and the Postal Service for letter carriers’ next contract begin Wednesday.

*The former city manager of a southwest Georgia city has been found dead, just days after being released from jail. Donna McChargue had been in the Schley County jail for 30 days before posting bail Friday. She had been facing 29 counts of theft by taking from her job as City Manager of Ellaville. The GBI estimates she had stolen between $460,000 and one-million dollars from the small town. An autopsy is planned, but investigators say foul-play does not appear to be involved.
