*The Habersham County Board of Commissioners is poised to schedule a special election in May to fill a vacancy on the board created by the recent resignation of Jimmy Tench. The board, at a meeting Feb. 16, is expected to vote to hold the election May 19, the day of Georgia General Election primaries.
*One of two congressmen representing Hall County is relocating his district office. 7th District’ Rep. Rich McCormick (R-Suwanee) recently announced plans to close the office, which is located in Cumming, and move it to Alpharetta. McCormick made the announcement in a recent social media post.
