With one eye on the weather and the potential for weekend ice storm the effects of which might linger into next week, organizers of the International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE) are forging ahead with plans to start the event on time Tuesday.
Known to many as simply the Atlanta poultry and egg show, the world’s largest annual poultry and egg, meat and animal food industry gathering is attended each year by a wide range of domestic and international decision-makers. It is held at the Georgia World Congress Center.
This year’s event already has 1,300 exhibitors signed up.
Regarding the weather, officials said Wednesday set-up is well underway with pre-work on utility installations and staging of booth freight for targeted move-in by exhibitors. Show management’s initiative is to stay ahead of possible winter weather interruptions.
IPPE management will continuously monitor conditions using guidance from the National Weather Service, local emergency management agencies, and congress center safety officials. Updates will be communicated through official channels, including email and text alerts to registered participants, the IPPE website, social media platforms, mobile app notifications, and onsite announcements.
