Temperatures through the month of December in Georgia were one degree above normal, according to the weather service’s December Climate Summary. Meanwhile, precipitation about 2.5 inches below average.
The report shows that temperatures in Gainesville, as recorded at Lee Gilmer Memorial Airport, averaged 45.8 degrees which is 0.9 degrees above normal while precipitation was 1.67 inches, 6.92 inches below normal.
And as 97.5 Glory FM has already reported, the forecast for the rest of winter calls for less than normal precipitation in Georgia and continued above normal temperatures with a worsening drought.
