The Hall County Board of Commissioners unanimously voted to dismiss the three planning commissioners, Chris Braswell, Stan Hunt andFrank Sosebee for violating the state’s open meeting law.
Thomas Mitchell Special Counsel for the Hall County Board of Commissioners said Braswell, Hunt and Sosebee met illegally six times in 2025 for the purpose of “conducting county business..”
“They violated the law,” Mitchell said.
“We are not happy to be here. I am not happy to be here,” said Commission Chairman David Gibbs. “I take the oath of office very seriously, and if you can’t obey the rules, then you should resign.”
Gibbs added, “I’ve known these three men for more than 20 years. I love them to death and if they came to me right now, I’d do everything I could to help them.
“But this is business,” Gibbs added. “And I’m very very frustrated.”
The vote was 4-0, with commissioner Billy Powell absent.
