12:15 P.M FRIDAY UPDATE:
The man killed in the accident on Browns Bridge Road Thursday was Charles Holloway, 63, Cartersville, the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) announced Friday morning. The other driver, Scott Douglas Kneiss, 61, (pictured) Gainesville, who was charged in connection with the accident, posted bonds totaling $16,960 and was released from the Hall County Jail Thursday night. He was arrested Thursday after being treated at Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville for minor injuries suffered in the head-on crash. His name was released in an earlier update Friday.
10:00 A.M. FRIDAY UPDATE:
A 61-year-old man has been charged in connection with the accident. Other details surrounding the crash, including the victim’s name, have not been released but a Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) spokeswoman confirms that Scott Douglas Kneiss is charged with Homicide by Vehicle in the 2nd Degree, Failure to Maintain Lane, and Operating a Vehicle with an Expired Tag.
4:30 P.M. THURSDAY UPDATE:
One driver was killed, and another injured in head-on collision Thursday morning on Browns Bridge Road near Ash Circle.
“Patrol deputies with the Hall County Sheriffโs Office (HCSO) and the agencyโs Accident
Investigation Unit (AIU) responded to the scene just after 10 a.m.,” HCSO spokeswoman B.J. Williams said. “The victim, an adult male driver who was driving a Toyota Tundra, was pronounced dead at the scene.”
Williams said the other driver, who was operating a Ford F150, suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville for treatment.
Charges are pending and other details on the crash, including identification of those involved, will be released following completion of the accident report, Williams added.
