Traffic stop results in drug distribution charges

A 19-year-old Gainesville man is free on $13,600 bond following his recent arrest on drug distribution and other charges. Joseph Lawrence Lebow’s arrest early Friday followed a traffic stop on Thompson Bridge Road.

HCSO NARRATIVE:

“A Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) patrol deputy was patrolling Thompson Bridge Road around 1:30 a.m. when he observed a driver, later identified as Lebow, making a right turn from Enota Avenue onto Thompson Bridge without using a turn signal. The deputy initiated a traffic stop and Lebow stopped his vehicle in the Publix parking lot.

When the deputy made contact with Lebow, he noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. A second deputy arrived at the scene to assist while Lebow’s vehicle was searched. The deputies located 15 THC vapes, a jar containing an estimated 2.5 ounces of marijuana, two digital scales and a grinder.

As a result, Lebow was charged with possession of a Schedule I controlled substance (15 counts), possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of drug-related objects (3 counts) and failure to signal. He was transported to the Hall County Jail and posted bond Saturday.”
