Nineteen employees at the Gainesville Jaycees Vocational Rehabilitation Center are being laid off, according to a federal database that tracks layoffs nationwide.
The center provides vocational services to those with disabilities and similar vocational needs, according to abilitycentral.org.
The WARN Notice doesn’t have any details on why these layoffs are happening or when they officially start. And an email request to the center for more information had not been answered as of early morning today.
More about the center can be found here: Gainesville VR Office | Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency
WARN Notice is part of the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act which helps ensure advance notice in cases of plant closings and layoffs, according to its website. The U.S. Department of Labor has compliance assistance materials to help workers and employers understand their rights and responsibilities under the provisions of WARN.
