Drought now covers all of Ga.

The few drought-free spots in Georgia a week ago are gone this week, according to the U.S. Drought Monitor (USDM).

The most severe conditions are still in northwest, west central and south Georgia.

In our corner of the state, “moderately” dry conditions exist in all counties except for Gilmer, Fannin and a portion of Union where things are considered “severe.”

The level of Lake Lanier, meantime, is down only a tenth-of-a-foot since last week and sits at 1064.3.
