Holiday travelers continue to see falling gas prices as the year’s end approaches.
In Gainesville, motorists are starting the week paying six cents a gallon less than last week, according to AAA. The average price today is $2.63. Likewise, the state average is also down six cents and sits at $2.68. And the national price is $2.82, down four cents from last Monday.
AAA says this is the cheapest December at the pump since the end of 2020. Crude oil prices remain low, and despite an increase in gasoline demand over the holidays, supply is strong.
