Two people were injured in Christmas Day accidents investigated by the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO), and in one instance, one driver was charged with using his cell phone while behind the wheel.
In an accident about 10:00 p.m. on Riverbend Circle, a woman suffered a “medical emergency” and sideswiped a trailer parked on the side of the road. Her vehicle then traveled off the road and hit a tree. She was taken Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville for treatment of unspecified injuries.
A two-vehicle accident about 7:00 p.m. occurred when one driver turned into the path of another on Georgia 365. That happened at the Lula Road intersection with one driver suffering “minor but visible” injuries, according to sheriff’s deputies.
And in the Chestnut Mountain area, following a one-vehicle accident, the driver was issued a warning about using a wireless device while driving. “He struck an unoccupied vehicle on Bristol Park “when he looked down at his cell phone,” according to the sheriff’s office, which also reported “no major damage (and) no injuries to anyone.”
