“Chief Magistrate Judge Andy Garrison announced (Friday) that the 2026 New Year Prayer Ceremony will be held on Friday, January 2…at 9:00 a.m. at the Jackson County Historic Courthouse.
This long-standing tradition, first observed in 1927, has brought together Jackson County’s local government leaders along with the citizens they serve for nearly a century. The event serves as an opportunity to reflect on the blessings of the previous year and to seek renewed hope and divine guidance for the year ahead.
As part of the ceremony, officials will recognize and honor Jackson County and City employees who passed away in 2025, acknowledging their dedicated service and commitment to the community.
Pastor Parrish Myers of Redstone Community Church will deliver the morning message, offering encouragement and direction as the county enters the next twelve months.
The program is expected to last approximately one hour, and light refreshments will be provided following the ceremony.
