“At approximately 4:00…Hall County Fire Rescue and Gainesville (Fire Department units) responded to Georgia Avenue…following reports of a fire.
Gainesville units…discovered a duplex with fire on the second floor. Crews made an offensive attack on the flames and extinguished the bulk of the fire on the first and second floor. The flames extended into the attic from behind the walls, fully involving the attic space…
The residents were able to evacuate the building (before firefighters arrived) and no one was injured. The duplex is considered to be a total loss. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and under investigation by the Hall County Fire Marshal’s office.”
