Hearing date set for suspended planning commissioners

A date has chosen for a hearing for the three Hall County Planning Commissioners accused of violating the Georgia open meetings law.

It will be held Dec. 17 at 9:00 a.m. at the county government center.

EARLIER STORY. POSTED NOV. 18:

A public hearing will be held on the charges that three members of the Hall County Planning Commission (HCPC) have been holding meetings that were in violation of the state’s Open Meetings law.

The county commission (HCC) voted to hold hearing during a brief called meeting Tuesday afternoon. No date has been set for the hearing, which is required by county code, but it must be held within 30 days. It will be conducted by an outside council.

The findings of a county commission-sanctioned investigation made public last week revealed that planning commissioners Chris Braswell, Stan Hunt and Frank Sosebee held at least five unannounced meetings. Braswell is chairman of the planning board.
