UPDATE. POSTED 8:45 A.M. MONDAY:
Fire damaged the Krystal in Oakwood early this morning. The call came in about 1:30.
HALL CO. FIRE RESCUE (HCFR) NEWS RELEASE:
“…First arriving units discovered heavy smoke emitting from the roof.
Crews began to search the inside of the building and it was empty at the time of the fire.
A (heating/air conditioning) unit was found engulfed above the kitchen on the roof. HCFR personnel had the bulk of the fire knocked down within 20 minutes of receiving the 911 call.
No one was injured…and the remaining hot spots were located and extinguished. The specific cause of the fire is unknown at this time, and the Hall County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.”
ORIGINAL POST. 6:30 A.M. MONDAY:
We don’t yet know the extent of damage but there was a fire overnight the Krystal Restaurant in Oakwood.
The Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) posted a Traffic Alert warning motorists that the westbound lanes of Mundy Mill Road were closed between Atlanta Highway and I-985 because of the fire.
By 4:30, all lanes except the right turn lane into the business, had reopened.
