*State education department leaders want the Georgia school cellphone ban expanded to high schools. It’s on the department’s just released list of legislative priorities for 2026. Right now the “Distraction-Free Education Act limits the ban to K-8 public schools.The current ban starts next fall.  

*Police in Hinesville say a toddler is dead after a reported accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound Saturday. Details are scarce about circumstance surrounding the shooting and on possible charges.  

*A Georgia Senator wants a change at the top of the Health and Human Services Department. Raphael Warnock posted on social media Sunday that RFK, Junior is a threat to our health and must be fired as health secretary. He referenced Kennedy sowing doubt in the effectiveness of vaccines.

*Marjorie Taylor Greene leaves Georgia gasping and guessing what’s next. The Rome Republican is resigning from Congress January 5 after President Trump turned on her over the Epstein files. Greene built her political career as a fierce Trump defender but no more.
