*The CEO of Hyundai Motor Company says a White House official apologized for the immigration raid on their Georgia plant. The ICE raid at the Metaplant and HL-GA Battery Company construction site in Bryan County resulted in over 400 people being detained, including more than 300 South Korean nationals who were brought in to train others. José Muñoz tells Bloomberg, “President Trump did not want those workers to go back to Korea.” The workers were held at an immigration detention center in Folkston before being sent back to Seoul.

*Georgia Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King said newly approved auto insurance rate reductions for State Farm customers mark one of the most significant steps the state has taken toward lowering costs for drivers, and he hopes it forces other insurers to follow. King says the carrier will cut rates in Georgia another three percent, bringing total reductions over the past year to more than ten percent. His office estimates the changes will save policyholders about $190 for each insured vehicle.

*Some Georgia voters say they stand by Marjorie Taylor Greene despite her differences with the President and other Republicans. Members of the Floyd County Republican Women’s Group, like Pam Peters, say they are focusing on volunteering at a local food pantry rather than getting caught up in the political back-and-forth. Susan Cooper tells CBS News Marjorie Taylor Greene, “…does what she genuinely believes is right” because it is, “…not political for her.” The women both say Greene’s support remains strong among party leaders in her district, with residents admiring her for standing up for women and victims of abuse. The GOP group says their mission to help those in need takes precedence over political disagreements, as they continue to focus on serving their Rome community.
