Gville woman charged in $9,000 theft of guitars

The Flowery Branch Police Department (FBPD) has successfully
charged a suspect in connection with a theft investigation stemming from an incident
earlier this year, a spokesman for the department said Wednesday.

“On Tuesday, Kirstie Harris, 49, of Gainesville was arrested,” Lt. Tony Alvarez said. “In March…investigators with the Flowery Branch Police Department responded to a reported
theft in the 5100 block of Chattahoochee Street. The investigation revealed that
approximately nine guitars, valued at an estimated $9,000, were stolen during the
incident.”

Lt. Alvarez said investigators were able to determine that Harris was in possession of the stolen guitars.
“Further investigation showed she subsequently pawned the property at a pawnshop
located outside of the Flowery Branch city limits.”

Harris was taken into custody by the Hall County Sheriff’s Office without incident, and she was later transported to the Hall County Jail. She has been charged with Theft by Receiving Stolen Property, and at mid-afternoon Wednesday was being held on a $5,700 bond.
