A Gainesville motorcycle rider suffered minor injuries on Tuesday in a traffic accident investigated by the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Accident Investigation Unit (AIU).
HCSO NARRATIVE:
“At approximately 8:50 a.m., deputies responded to the collision between the motorcycle, a 2020 Suzuki GSX-R600, and a 2000 GMC Sierra pickup truck in the 4600 block of Jim Hood Road, between Manor Drive and Highland Road.
Hall County Fire Rescue transported the motorcycle rider, Maddox Collin Mensinger, 18, of Gainesville, to the hospital. The pickup driver, Tina Reed Minor, 59, of Gainesville, and her passenger did not suffer injuries.
According to the preliminary AIU investigation, both vehicles were southbound on Jim Hood Road when Minor slowed down for a turning vehicle in front of her. Mensinger, who was behind Minor, attempted to stop but collided with the back of Minor’s pickup.
AIU investigators cited Mensinger for following too closely.
The accident blocked Jim Hood Road for approximately one hour.”
