FLOWERY BRANCH POLICE DEPARTMENT (FBPD) NEWS RELEASE:
“The Flowery Branch Police Department has arrested Virginia
Parker, 47, of Flowery Branch following an investigation into the alleged financial
exploitation of an elderly relative.
Flowery Branch Police investigators were alerted to a fraud report originating from the
5600 block of Newberry Point Drive (about month ago)…
The subsequent investigation determined that Mrs. Parker had been financially
exploiting her 92-year-old relative. The investigation revealed that Mrs. Parker had
allegedly committed several offenses, including writing false checks to herself using the
victim’s identify, using the victim’s information to obtain a life insurance policy, and
using funds from the victim to pay off personal credit cards. Warrants were obtained for
Mrs. Parker on the same date.
(Monday) Flowery Branch Police Department established contact with
Mrs. Parker via a traffic stop. Mrs. Parker was taken into custody without incident. Mrs.
Parker was taken to the Hall County Detention Center and booked on the warrants for
the following charges:
Exploitation of the Elderly – One Count
Forgery in the 3rd Degree – One Count
Forgery in the 4th Degree – Eight Counts
Theft by Deception – Felony”
