A nearly 300-acre site on Georgia 365 could become home to Habersham County’s first data center as a proposal for one near Gainesville awaits a decision from the Hall County Commission. That’s according to a recent filing with the Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA).
“This project is an approximately 284-acre mixed-use development,” the filing says. “It will include some residential components, some commercial and retail components, and some industrial components, including a portion of property for a data center.”
The proposed project will include parcels that run parallel to Georgia 365 South between Level Grove Road and Duncan Bridge Road.
Currently, there is one parcel in the City of Baldwin and several in unincorporated Habersham County, but the developer, The Cook and Company of Gainesville, wants to annex all of property into the City of Cornelia.
Meanwhile, the Hall County Commission is scheduled to consider a request involving plans for a data center on O’Kelley Road south of Gainesville Dec. 11.
