The newest member of the Gainesville City Council is scheduled to take his oath of office at Tuesday’s meeting of the Mayor and City Council.
Jonathan Elliott will fill the Ward 2 vacancy which was created in June when Zack Thompson resigned to run for mayor. He was elected during the Nov. 4 General Election, defeating Albert Reeves with 67% of the vote.
Also, during the meeting the mayor and council will consider an ordinance amendment that would require new car washes to recycle water.
The council meets at 5:30 at the city’s public safety complex on Queen City Parkway.
