The U.S. Drought Monitor (USDM) map showing drought conditions in Georgia is little changed from a week ago.
Virtually all of northeast Georgia is considered drought-free. The only pockets of drought are found in the southwestern half of Forsyth County and extreme southwestern Hall. There are also pockets of drought-free counties in west Georgia – parts or all of four counties.
The hardest hit area continues to be south Georgia, including the farm belt.
Lake Lanier, meanwhile, is half-a-foot lower than it was a week ago – 1065.3.
