At the hands of more than 1,200 volunteers, 128 tons of trash was collected at the 37th Annual Lake Lanier Shore Sweep last month, according to the sponsors, the Lake Lanier Association (LLA).
“That’s over 256,000 pounds of trash off of our beloved Lake Lanier,” the group said in making the announcement Friday.
The number of volunteers included individuals and people from more than 50 groups.
