With a vote on a proposed data center in Hall County getting a lot of attention these days, an investigative piece by a Columbus newspaper and as reported by Georgia Public Broadcasting (GPB) delves into the pros and cons of data centers and how other parts of the state are approaching the controversial issue.
It found that several counties have imposed moratoriums on them, others say they are okay with some restrictions (including Forsyth and Lumpkin), while a couple are welcoming them with open arms.
The Hall County Board of Commissioners, meanwhile, voted Thursday to delay at least until Dec. 11 a vote on a $1.2 Billion data center on O’Kelly Road.
