*Four Gainesville residents are included in the Leadership Georgia Class of 2026 which was recently released. They are Phil Bonelli, Adriana Collins, Arthur McPhaul, and Mark Pettitt. Each year, Leadership Georgia seeks out “emerging leaders” from every corner of the state and selects 63 participants from a pool of several hundred applicants to participate in the year-long program. “The mission of Leadership Georgia is to prepare strong and effective leaders for the future development of our great state,” according to the organization’s announcement of this year’s class. *The Boys & Girls Clubs of Lanier’s 2025 Youth of the Year is Jaemy Quito-Cruz. The announcement was made at the clubs’ recent Youth of the Year celebration in Gainesville. Quito-Cruz now moves on to competition for the regional award and possibly state and national honors.
