GoFundMe account for son of slain deputy sheriff

A GoFundMe account has been created for the son of a Gwinnett County deputy sheriff who was shot and killed recently in her Forsyth County home. The son was wounded in the attack.

As of mid-morning Saturday, $14,000 of the $22,000 goal had been raised through 137 donations.

According to the account narrative, the money that is raised will go directly to the boy’s ongoing medical expenses, therapy, rehabilitation, and educational support, and will be managed by the family.
