Armed robbery: One wounded, teen charged

A recent armed robbery turned violent, leaving the victim in the hospital and a teenage suspect in jail, according to Gainesville Police.

“Police responded to NGMC on September 20, 2025 at around 5pm for a gunshot victim,” police spokesman Kevin Holbrook wrote in an email Wednesday. “The 21-year-old male victim had been shot in the arm.”

Capt. Holbrook added that the victim, however, was not “forthcoming” with much information regarding the shooting. But the investigation led detectives to Tierre Jatyce Pirkle, 17, and he was later arrested.

Pirkle is charged with aggravated assault, possession of the firearm during the commission of a crime and armed robbery and is being held in the Hall County Jail without bond.

“The case is not believed to be random in nature,” Holbrook said.
