The state patrol said Sunday night the motorist who was killed in a one-vehicle accident last week in Habersham County was apparently drunk at the time.
STATE PATROL NARRATIVE:
“On (Thursday) at approximately 4 p.m., (an SUV) was traveling south on GA 15 in the right lane.
(It) veered off the right shoulder of the road, down an embankment, and into a culvert (then spun into a tree).
The driver, Ginger Steadman, age 55, from Commerce…was injured and succumbed to her injuries from the crash.
Ms. Steadman is suspected of Driving Under the Influence.”
