Both of these speeders were pulled over on busy Bethelview Road, a four-lane suburban street lined with shopping centers, other retail establishments, and restaurants.
Deputies say each was clocked at almost twice (81 mph and 83 mph) the 45-mph speed limit, one during the day, the other at night.
“Once your speeding rises above a safe amount for the area and your surroundings, deputies will (also) cite you for reckless driving as well,” a sheriff’s office Facebook posting reads. “One of these stated that he was trying to get to a parking lot to get on his conference call.
“There is absolutely no reason to be driving this much over the speed limit, regardless of what the trolls will say. Lives around you are more important. #SlowDown”
