A break in our dry spell?

Weather experts have long said forecasting long range can be iffy at best. Now, as if to drive home that point, they are telling us we may have some rain next week, just days after a gloomy advisory that it might be a week or do before any significant rainfall. Drought now covers more than 75% of state

For the Gainesville are, the chances for rain next week have jumped from about 20 percent to 60.

In an advisory issued Saturday morning, the National Weather Service (NWS) said “Chances are increasing in seeing some decent rainfall across north and central Georgia from a storm system that could approach the area by the middle to end of next week. This could provide some relief for the building drought conditions.” But forecasters cautioned that “uncertainty remains.”
