Overnight storms possible

A cluster of storms with gusty winds may develop along a southward advancing cold front and push into far north Georgia Friday night into early Saturday morning, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

“The timing is somewhat uncertain for now,” the advisory says but the best bet is midnight-8 a.m.

The southern edge of the system runs from just north of Gainesville to Rome. The greatest threat along and north of that line is damaging winds.
