Gville, Hall schools getting state money for student mental health services

The state Board of Education recently authorized $19.3 million in state funds for direct student mental health services, including $340,000 for the Hall County School District (HCSD) and $80,000 for the Gainesville City School System (GCSS).

The board also okayed Paraprofessional to Teacher Certification Reimbursement Grants which are to be used to cover the costs associated with a school district’s paraprofessionals completing their teaching certification through a state program.

Though the HCSD and GCSS were not allocated any funds for that program, some school systems in the area were: Barrow, Dawson, Forsyth, Gwinnett, and Habersham. How much each is receiving and how much is going to other districts in the state can be found here: Attachment.aspx
