As it prepares for Tuesdays groundbreaking, Kroger’s Atlanta Division released new details Monday about the Marketplace the company is planning in Oakwood at 4050 Millside Parkway. The $49.2 million capital investment will encompass more than 123,000 square feet and, as previously reported, is expected to open next fall.
“This is not just a capital investment, it’s a community investment,” said Victor Smith, Kroger’s Atlanta Division president. “We recognize Kroger’s unique role in the communities we serve and are committed to creating positive change and delivering on our purpose to feed the human spirit.”
In addition to things like floral, bakery, deli, meat, and fresh produce, the store will feature a variety of amenities, including:
- Starbucks® kiosk
- Sushi kiosk
- Murray’s Cheese Shop
- Expanded household, baby, toy, and apparel departments
- Full-service pharmacy with drive-thru
- Online ordering with convenient Pickup services
- Fuel Center
“We are looking forward to the groundbreaking ceremony as we welcome our local officials and community partners,” Smith said. “As an employer, food processor, retailer, healthcare provider and more, we are proud to be a part of this growing community.”
Kroger’s Atlanta Division has opened two new Marketplace stores in Georgia this year — one in Athens and another in Hoschton. The division will also open a new Marketplace store in Bethlehem in December. Earlier this year, the Atlanta Division broke ground on a Marketplace store in Locust Grove.
