UPDATE: Lumpkin Co. teen killed in traffic accident

UPDATE 8:15 A.M. TUESDAY

(STATE PATROL NARRATIVE)

“At approximately 6:32 AM on September 1, 2025, a 2008 Ford Mustang, driven by Mr. Ayden Molinari was traveling east on Wimpy Mill Road, negotiating a curve to the right at a high rate of speed. The Ford Mustang traveled onto the shoulder of the roadway and then onto an embankment where it overturned onto its right side. The Ford Mustang continued east on the north shoulder striking a guardrail, then continuing east. The Ford Mustang overturned into a creek on its top. The 16yo passenger (who received minor injuries) was able to exit the vehicle and locate help.

A Lumpkin County teenager was killed in a holiday weekend traffic accident. That’s according to a Facebook post from the county school system.

“The Lumpkin County School System is deeply saddened by the tragic loss of one of our students, Ayden Molinari, in a car accident over the weekend,” the post reads. “Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with his family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time.

“We are providing additional counseling and support services at the school to help students and staff cope with this loss.”

The state patrol, as of 6:00 a.m. Tuesday, had not responded to a request for information on the accident.
