Voters in Jackson County, Commerce and Pendergrass are gearing up to go to the polls March 18 to vote on a couple of school bond referendums and in a special mayoral election.
The Jackson County School District is asking that a $200 million (not to exceed that amount) bond referendum be approved while Commerce schools have scheduled a $30 million (not to exceed that amount) referendum.
Meanwhile, in Pendergrass a special election is planned for mayor. Bill Ellis and Nathan Pruitt are running for the post which was left vacant by the resignation of Nick Geiman. Also on the ballot, but in an uncontested city council election, will be Micheal Jones. That seat was left vacant by the resignation of Crystal Hendrix.
