Fire destroyed an empty chicken house on Whippoorwill Road Tuesday afternoon. According to Hall County Fire Rescue (HCFR) spokeswoman Kimberlie Ledsinger, the call came in about 2:00.
“The 40ft X 400ft structure was fully involved and beginning to collapse once crews arrived on scene,” Ledsinger said. “Water was shuttled continuously until the flames were under control and to prevent any further extension to the nearby chicken houses.”
The property where it was located has four chicken houses, but the others were unaffected.
It was immediately known what started the fire.
