Different kind of ‘drug store’ leads to arrest

A 24-year-old man who had been selling drugs from an outbuilding in Gainesville, where more than three pounds of marijuana were discovered during a drug raid, was arrested in Gwinnett County last week and returned to Gainesville, the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) announced Monday.

HCSO NARRATIVE:

*During the course of a drug investigation, agents with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a residence on Lee Street in Gainesville the morning of Dec. 21, 2021.

Llolmi Velasquez…had been identified as a suspect who sold marijuana from an outbuilding on the property. The investigation determined Mr. Velasquez did not live at the residence on a full-time basis, but he was frequently on the property. He was not at the scene when the search warrant was executed.

When investigators searched the outbuilding, they found a large quantity of marijuana (approximately 3.5 lbs.) divided into four bags stored in a large trash bag. They also seized a vacuum sealer and baggies from the outbuilding.

Investigators obtained warrants for Mr. Velasquez for felony possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.”

He was freed on $7,248 bond Friday.
